Our Courses
The CLA offer a wide range of chess and language courses at different levels suitable to any learner who wants to improve quickly and efficiently.
Courses are face-to-face in person or online, one-on-one or in small groups.
We want to keep groups small in order to allow teachers to effectively monitor student progress. One-on-one classes have a tailor-made approach essential to meet each student’s needs, giving them the opportunity to learn competently in a short period of time.
Small Groups (Max 8 people)
Classes are organised in small groups which benefit the student in promoting self-confidence, and caters to their individual learning needs.
Online Option
Students can choose to attend online classes from the comfort of their own homes, through Skype and Google Hangouts. This may be perfect for companies who want their staff to be trained in a second language from opposite ends of the globe, or individuals who want to better fit learning times into their schedules.
Flexible Tutoring
CLA offers flexible scheduling with morning, afternoon, and evening classes available during weekdays and weekends.
Friendly Learning Environment
All students will be immersed in friendly and engaging classes taught by experienced teachers, focusing on the positive aspects of learning. Students will be more open to actively participating in class.
Language in Context Programs and Workshops
Students have the opportunity to practice the language they are studying in conjunction with a particular interest, whether it be surfing, painting, dining, dancing, etc.

High-performance training, chess coach training with official FIDE Academy certificate, FIDE Trainers’ Seminar for FIDE Trainers’ titles
Our Chess Courses focus on promoting intellectual growth that develops cognitive abilities, essential skills for the development of the individual, like increased creativity and critical thinking amongst other skills. For those interested in tournaments, CLA provides specific chess lessons with high attention on opening strategies, analysing the player’s tournament games and preparing an opening repertoire according to his own line. The benefits of chess are vast, varied and well documented. Our chess team include International FIDE Chess Trainers, Masters and Grand Masters. The ‘Steps Method System’ is adopted to teach children how to play chess, incorporated with Russian chess school material and training methodology.

Our Language Courses emphasize practical communication – we want our students to be able to speak and communicate effectively in the language they have chosen. Enhancing speaking and listening skills are the main aspects of each class; however, reading and writing play an integral role in complementing the learning process. All of our teachers are professionally trained to facilitate the students’ language immersion, offering classes which include real life situations and practical scenarios. The goal is to offer an environment that enhances students’ abilities to use the language rather than just gain theoretical knowledge of it. In addition, the student can join a Language in Context program, which contributes to their learning and skill development using a variety of real life situations.
