🚀 Getting Started

Q: Can I try a class before committing? A: Group classes are designed for committed learners. However, we offer a trial one-on-one session for our language packs which is a great way to experience our teaching style first!

📅 Booking & Attendance

Q: How do I book my classes? A: You will use your unique coupon code sent after signing up. We provide a step-by-step guide to help you through your first booking.

Q: Do I need to book in advance or can I just attend? A: All sessions must be booked via Acuity. This protects the quality of the class—by capping the numbers, we ensure that you get the personal attention and speaking practice you are paying for.

Q: I’m not very tech-savvy. Can you help me book? A: Absolutely! We want you to focus on learning, not technology. If you find the online system difficult or just want a hand setting up your schedule, please reach out via WhatsApp or email. We offer “Concierge Booking” to manually handle the calendar for you!

Q: Does “Unlimited Classes” (The Hiker) mean I am guaranteed a spot in every single session? A: “Unlimited” means you have the right to book into any and all sessions on our calendar without extra charge. However, to maintain our high-quality standards, every session is strictly capped at 6 students. Seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q: What if I can’t find an open seat? A: We strongly recommend booking your entire month’s schedule as soon as you receive your code. If you cannot find any available slots that fit your schedule, please contact us immediately via WhatsApp or email at info [at] clacademy [dot] com [dot] au. We are committed to your progress and will work with you to find a solution, including opening “overflow” sessions if demand is high.

Q: Can I switch between in-person and online classes? A: Yes! You have total flexibility. Just book your preferred format (In-person or Zoom) using your code.

Q: What if I need to cancel or reschedule a specific class I booked? A: You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the class starts via the booking platform. We ask that you do this as early as possible (preferably within 24h) so that the spot can be made available for another student.

💳 Plans, Pausing & Cancellations

Q: Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan later? A: Yes! You can switch between The Taster and The Hiker at any time with 30 days’ notice.

Q: What if I want to take a break or I’m traveling? A: Our plans include a Pause Policy. You can pause for up to 2 months (60 days) per year. Please provide 7 days’ notice before your next billing date. 

Q: How do I cancel my subscription? A: We require 30 days’ written notice for cancellations.  To ensure your request has been processed, you must receive a written confirmation of receipt from us. Your access will continue until the end of the final billing cycle following this notice period. 

  • Note: Because of this 30-day notice, even if you cancel during your first month, a second month’s payment will occur before the plan closes.

🎓 Learning & Progress

Q: What level are the classes? A: Classes are mixed-level but adapted to individual needs. Our small groups (max 6 students) ensure the instructor can tailor the difficulty to you.

Q: How is my progress tracked? A: We focus on Real-World Readiness. Your progress is measured by your ability to navigate real-world conversations (ordering food, traveling, etc.) each week, supported by immediate teacher feedback.

Q: Who are the instructors? A: Our instructors are passionate, dedicated, and carefully selected. Many are certified, and all are trained and supported by the school director to ensure high-quality, engaging classes. We focus on creating a fun, effective learning environment for every student!

👥 Specialised Plans

Q: How does The Mates Plan work? A: The Mates Plan is for two people learning together. You share 4 group classes per month (2 classes each, or any combination that adds up to 4). You can attend the same classes together or separate classes at different times. You’ll also receive 1 semi-private session per month for both of you to attend together.

Q: How does The Family Trek Plan work? A: The Family Trek Plan is for households of up to 4 people. You share 1 group class spot per week (1 person attends per week, and you can take turns). You’ll also receive 1 private session per month for the whole family to attend together.

Q: What if my family has more than 4 people for The Family Trek? A: The plan covers up to 4 people. For a 5th family member, you can purchase an individual Taster plan, and we are happy to include them in your family’s monthly private session!4 people.
